Through considerable efforts on the part of Pineloch Sun and our members, we're proud to be recognized as a Firewise community. We do our part to ensure our community is maintained to the utmost level of fire safety.

Members are encouraged to sign up for the emergency alert system in Kittitas County:

  1. Kittitas County Everbridge Service:

    • The Kittitas County Everbridge service notifies community members about incidents that may affect their neighborhoods. You can enroll in this service to receive alerts via various methods, including text messages, email, and more1.

    • To sign up, visit the Kittitas County Everbridge Alert Enrollment page and follow the instructions there.

  2. Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR):

  3. Local Fire Districts and Emergency Management Offices:

    • Keep an eye on updates from local fire districts and emergency management offices. They often communicate evacuation orders, road closures, and other critical information during wildfire incidents.

    • If you find yourself in a wildfire emergency, always follow the directions of public safety personnel.

Remember, safety comes first. In case of an evacuation, use the “P’s of Preparedness” to focus your efforts: People, Pets, Prescriptions, Papers, and Personal Needs. Stay vigilant and thank you for being proactive in staying informed!

Let's Log Those Firewise Hours!

Firewise Tracker.PNG

Hello Members! We really appreciate your efforts in keeping our community safe through the Firewise program. Just a quick reminder to log your volunteer hours.

Our annual membership in the Firewise program costs ~$8,000. However, by recording your hours and contributing your time, we can offset this expense significantly - each logged hour is worth around $20. So by recording your hours, you help us cover that cost without dipping into our budget. You can count any time spent clearing fuel from your property or doing related tasks.
